here’s a little taste of the Haines, mostly the pioneer bar, since its one of the best bars in the world

Most bars in Alaska have a wonderful tradition of ringing the bell. If you decide to ring the bell you buy everybody thats in the bar a round of drinks. You get a chip that’s good for one drink-whatever you want.  Its acceptable to keep the chip for a later date, but good form to use that chip that night, especially if its one of your friends who rang the bell.
